Responsibilities

Best Tile is looking to add an experienced and well-rounded individual to join our stone and granite shop team. Assisting in the layout, design, production, and installation of stone and granite, you will:
• Read and follow job plans and instructions
• Hand fabricate and polish custom edges, repairing chips and refinishing edges as required
• Move and install prefabricated pieces to and in customer homes; inspect, examine, and test the installation to evaluate conformance to specifications
• Contribute to an efficient, clean, and organized work area, assisting with shop housekeeping, maintenance, and staging/loading
• Work safely and responsibly - alone and in groups - adhering to all safety policies, procedures and guidelines as well as all other company policies in the employee handbook

Requirements

• At least 21 years old with a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
• Previous fabrication and installation experience (1 year or equivalent training and experience)
• Basic and accurate math skills, including the ability to read and use measuring equipment and tools
• Ability to use hand, electric, and other powered tools
• Forklift certification is preferred but we will train and certify the ideal candidate
• Possession of a current and valid driver's license
• Possess initiative, the ability to follow routine, and excellent communication skills
• Show attention to detail and adhere to strict and high standards, taking price in craft and workmanship
• Willingness to work a flexible shift that includes overtime hours

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to make regular use of all limbs in the fabrication shop and to complete installations in the field
• Physically capable of lifting, carrying, and moving heavy and bulky materials - manually and by operating tools, a light truck, vehicle, and powered industrial truck
• Can withstand consistent exposure to high noise levels, water, dust, odors, and hazardous equipment
• Competency in reading and interpreting instructions
