Since we are a distributor we must do our best to ensure the products and manufacturers we represent also share our goals of environmental stewardship and economic viability.
We are fortunate that as an industry we represent the hallmark of sustainability and can boast that many of the factories we partner with have achieved the prestigious Eco Label designation as well as operating under the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standards. These factories are required to recycle their waste stream, use closed loop water systems and submit to 3rd party certification.
For projects with LEED requirements we offer locally sourced raw and finished materials as well as up to 65% recycled content products.

Environmental Benefits of Tile and Stone:
Supplied directly from the earth, stone is one of the most durable and natural products offered. It easily outlasts other floorings and wall materials. The durability that comes with stone leads to fewer repairs and replacements over a building’s lifetime.
Not only does most tile last up to five times as long as carpet, wood and vinyl it is chemically inert and can be used as stable fill for construction sites and ground material for road beds.

Tile utilizes natural manufacturing, has little contaminants and is hygienically clean. It is durable and has a long life and is easily replaced.
Commonly used cement-based setting and grouting materials generally do not contain VOCs (volatile organic compounds) or other suspect chemicals. Ceramic tile is a solar collector and one of the best floor coverings to install for that purpose. In the summer tile defuses some of the sun’s rays by absorbing heat.
Tile gives a positive influence on the indoor environment and air quality because it does not absorb or emit pollutants like other flooring materials.
Our manufacturers use environmentally sensitive processes to make high-quality porcelain tile from simple non-toxic minerals and clays.
After tile is installed it forms a completely inert flooring system, one which does not support bacterial or fungal growth, or absorb VOCs and other chemicals from surrounding materials.
Glass is becoming more eco-friendly and is antibacterial and antimicrobial. Many new products are incorporating post-consumer recycled glass while others are becoming more durable and will wear more like ceramic tile rather than traditional glass tile.
